COLORADO SPRINGS Golf Tournaments

Test your abilities on our Pete Dye–designed championship course. Cheyenne Mountain Resort hosts tournaments for women, men, couples, and seniors as well as fun events such as Glowgolf, with lit greens and glow-in-the-dark golf balls, and the very social Greenskeeper’s Revenge.

4 BALL MATCH PLAY

The 4 Ball Match play event is open to all male golfers with an established USGA handicap over the age of 18. The event is played on a Friday, Saturday and Sunday in late May. The format is better ball match play with two person teams. Teams are flighted in brackets of 8 based on the combined handicap of the two team members. Match play competition runs all three days of the event, with the finals of each bracket on Sunday. All players are guaranteed a minimum of two matches, as consolation brackets will be played for those eliminated on Friday.

SUPERFLING – MEN'S MEMBER / MEMBER

The Superfling is an annual event open to all male golf members with an established USGA handicap over the age of 18. This event is played on a Saturday and Sunday in early to mid June. The format for this event is a 2 person Net and Gross Best Ball each day with the 3rd score being an eclectic (best 18 holes of 36). The teams must be made up with a handicap differential of no more than 10 shots between partners, and are divided into 3 flights. The entry fee includes a stag dinner, carts, lunch on Sunday and prizes. There are optional games to participate in if interested.

SUPERCHICK – WOMEN'S MEMBER / GUEST

The SuperChick is an annual event open to all female golf members with an established handicap. This event is limited to the first 40 members and their guests and is held in mid July over a Wednesday – Friday. The first day is the optional practice round, evening putting contest, and dinner. Thursday and Friday are tournament days, with an awards luncheon after Friday's round. The entry fee includes green fees for guests, carts all days, dinner on Wednesday, lunch on Thursday and Friday, tee favors, and prizes. There many optional games to participate in if interested.

SUPERBIRD – MEN'S MEMBER / GUEST

The SuperBird is an annual event open to all male golf members with an established handicap. This event is limited to the first 54 members and their guests who submit their completed entry to the Golf Shop. It is held over a 4 day period, Wednesday – Saturday, at the end of July. The first day is an optional practice round day with an evening putting contest and stag dinner. The tournament is the next 3 days with lunch on Thursday and Friday and an Awards banquet on Saturday evening. The entry fee includes green fees for guests, carts all days, dinner on Wednesday night, lunch on Thursday and Friday, dinner on Saturday for the member and guest as well as tee favors and prizes. There are many optional games to participate in if interested.

MEN'S CLUB CHAMPIONSHIP – MATCH PLAY

The Club Championship is a Match Play event open to all male golf members. This event is run over 3 days with play starting on a Friday afternoon and ending on Sunday at the end of August. There is an 18 hole stoke play qualifier if you wish to try and compete in the championship flight, which is played with no handicap from the Championship Tee Markers on the Saturday preceding the match play rounds. All others may sign-up for the flights, and the brackets of 8 will be determined by the field handicaps. In the flights, the lower handicap player will play with no strokes and the opponent will receive the difference between the two. The entry fee covers prizes.

MEN'S STOKE PLAY CHAMPIONSHIP

The Stoke Play Championship is a 36 hole stoke play event open to all male golf members. This event is run over a weekend with play starting on Saturday and ending on Sunday in early July. The flights will be pre-flighted by handicap and determined by the field with the first flight playing from the championship tees. The Stoke Play Champion will be determined by the lowest 36 hole total score. The entry fee includes prizes.

MAJURE CUP

The Majure Cup is a fun event that mimics the Ryder Cup format and is open to all male golf members with an established USGA handicap. This event has been played since 2000. We try and keep people on the same team so we can continue the camaraderie between the Homesteaders and the Cattlemen, but new participants are always welcome. This is a 3 day event, but you do not have to play all 3 days to participate. You gain points for your team by winning the front 9, back 9 and overall match. There is no entry fee, but you have to commit to a $5 nassau and the losing team buys lunch for the winning team on Sunday. The formats are all match play and are, the team alternate shot on Friday, team best ball on Saturday, and single matches on Sunday. This event is played in September.

GREENSKEEPER REVENGE

The Greenskeeper Revenge is a very social event. This event is open to all members who have an established USGA handicap and are 18 years of age or older. This is a 2 person event, and the format for this is a "Triple Play". Holes 1-6 are Best Ball, 7-12 are Chapman Alternate Scotch and 13-18 are a Scramble. Your team can consist of 2 members or a member and a guest. The entry fee for this event is $65 and covers tee favors and prizes.
